Does this mean that the actual fall ended after 1000 years or did Songhai fall over the time period of 1000 years?
I'm guessing the Moroccans had access to trade routes (because they are in Northern Africa above the Sahara Desert region) with Europe who had guns, and Africa didn't because of the Sahara Desert.

again, details are useful only if they can help you answer the major questions, memorizing the eight groups is probably not going to help you.
as for Songhai, it lasted about 150 years, but overall the West African kingdoms lasted about 1000 years, from about 600 C.E. to 1591 C.E.
The question is, why didn't the West Africans have guns?
